Ford Thunderbird Paint Details and SuggestionsWe have listed these 2002 2003 2004 and 2005 Ford Thunderbird paint codes for you, our valued customer, to reference when necessary. We would like to suggest that if you are doing a paint job cover-up on a metallic paint, such as the Thunderbird Blue, that you do the research and find a really good painter who has many years of experience spraying metallic paints. We had painters here at Thunderbird Concepts for the first year we made the Roadster Tonnneau and went through just about every detail when it comes to matching the metallic Thunderbird colors. It is a technique that relies on many factors, including the distance the painter sprays and the amount of time the painter takes to spray the paint. It's these small details that make a huge difference in the appearance of the paint’s metallic hue. If it's spayed too heavy, the color may come out too dark, etc. I hope we didn't scare you out of getting a paint job or cover up. To make sure that your Ford Thunderbird paint color comes out correctly, we suggest that you ensure that your Ford Thunderbird is present for the painter to color-match your Ford Thunderbird's color. Also, make sure that the painter you choose has done good work in the past. View his work and look for "orange peel" (ripples in the paint when viewed at a slight angle, which is not good. Orange Peel is a result of the painter not "wet sanding" the clear coat....this is a result of lazy work.) Also, you want to look and see if his past work looks uniform in color hue.... does it look lighter in one spot than the other? These are just a few things to look out for. You will NEVER find an absolutely perfect paint job, but you can make sure it's close to perfect by knowing what to look for. We hope that this little note will help you get the paint job or cover up you deserve! Happy
